And once again just so you know I don't hate all television, since I'm going to be gone from Atlanta at least another week I'm catching up on Dollhouse and it is SO GOOD. God, the amount of plot and plot development and continuity in this show is epic.

Ahhh...too bad about cancellation. Well, I'm just happy we get the end of series 2! I'll def. buy both Blueray box sets as soon as the second one is out.

Why can't all TV shows have continuous plot and character progression and be coherent and both funny and dramatic with moments of total badassery? :(

Spoilers for Merlin 2x13 )

Still feverishly playing Dragon Age. Had to dump one of my ho's to commit to the other, finally. Dumped!ho was displeased. Oh well. It wasn't like she was putting out anymore. Every time I macked on her she'd be all "Not tonight, I have a headache." Well, okay, she'd be all "Hmmm...not tonight! I love being a cocktease." Which I guess she thought was hot. Well, HA HA Morrigan, Zeveran gives me cock! His...mine... >>' (Seriously, though, the m/m sex scene was a lot more racy than I thought it'd be. Score one for Bioware.)

Despite my love for slash there was a brief time I thought Morrigan and I had something special. But then she started getting all up in my business all the time. I can't be tied down like that! :|

Yeah, so, actually I'm really happy to be progressing in the plot, too. I'm not completely shallow. (No. Really. I swear.) Except my bro wanted the Xbox awhile, so now I'm catching up on teve, since my brother has been playing World of Warcraft nonstop 24 hours a day since he got home this is a rare moment to use the computer to view my British dramas. >>'

Merry Christmas/Secularmas and happy Yule! <33

My Yuletide Santa brought me "bide (abiding)" this year, featuring Butch and Sundance and Etta! I could not be happier. :)

I think I'll have to browse other stories later because the archive is obviously hammered atm. XD I've been trying to add characters + pairing to one of my treats since last night (because I forgot to when I first posted it) and it keeps timing out on the update. >>' At least the summary covers it? *tries one more time*

eta: Tenth time's the charm! :D

Although I submitted my Yuletide on time I believe I only just actually finished it! I'm glad they allow us to edit after submitting. Now I need to get my brother to proof the whole thing...

Well, this was the writing product for this month. Maybe after the first some of you might even read it. :x (Except, naturally, the fandom is obscure.) I hope the person I wrote it for enjoys it. That's my main hope!

I don't really understand how pinch hits and treats work. Where do I get the list for treats? Will it be put up today? Some people are already writing them...If anybody can explain any of THAT to me that'd be steller. (I mean, I read the FAQ, but...I'm not sure if I should be on the pinch hits list I found out about late last night to find the list of prompts for treats?)

eta: Oh! The Yuletide Madness post is on the admin community. I'm so much slower than the rest of the world. *weeps* ...but! Okay. I'm caught up, now.

Wresting myself away from Dragon Age for a few hours, through a series of events I was looking up homosexuality in the Bible and stumbled across this line:

"The second term is 'arsenokoitai' in Greek. The exact meaning of this word is lost. It seems to have been a term created by Paul for this verse."

Speaking a little Japanese, I immedietly read this word as "arse lover's group." This made me smile for some time.

( arse no koi = arse's lover; tai = party/company/troop)

The page goes on to tell use "arsen" means "man." >>'

[i]calicokat: Just in case you think I am critical of all movies ever...

Oh Em Gee

THE IRON MAN 2 TRAILER GIVES ME CHILLS OMG I AM SO EXCITED I MAY EXPLODE.

Man, I was super excited about Alice in Wonderland until the trailer came out. I thought it was going to mostly feature Mia Wasikowska on a fantasy adventure about a young woman but from the trailer it looks like she's there to give Johnny Depp a reason to play out another character that's almost the exact same kind of quirky as all his other recent "quirky" characters. The trailer is almost 100% Johnny Depp. DO NOT WANT.

Man, Johnny, I own all your movies up to Once Upon A Time In Mexico. (Which came right after my beloved PotC and before the...sequels.)

What up, Johnny? Why you gotta be like this? You used to be the guy who picked the huge variety of interesting projects. Now you just...do one thing, and the shine's worn off a bit.

Admittedly I've missed Public Enemies because I was so tired of the other stuff. But I've heard it was so-so? Any first hand opinions?

Also, my cat is trying to convince me to move back in with my mom and dad. Constant purring, cuddling, kneading, following me about the house, having a play while I do cardio in the den (it was like he was exercising, too, so cute!), making lots of talky meowy noises he never does in Atlanta......damn it, cat. Just because I'm broke and you're happy and I get on with my mom, now, and my dad and I love the same sort of entertainment so it's always fun to be around and I spent all day playing Dragon Age on a 52" television ISN'T REASON ENOUGH.

...man. :P But it's pretty close. ..... But I gotta keep on looking for a job in Atlanta. Right, right.

HALP, my cat will not let me read fanfic in bed on my netbook. ;____; He keeps plopping down between me and the screeeen. And then shoving his face in my hands as I type. :((

I am typing from one of my two X-mas prezzies, my Toshiba mini NB205-N325! There are not words for how cute and little this thing is. And I love the keyboard, it's a pleasure to type on. I think all the research paid off and hopefully me and this little thing will have long happy tiems together.

My other present was a drawing tablet...I may install that on the desktop and give it a try tomorrow.

Yeah, it's not X-mas yet but my dad was like "Well, there's no point wrapping it up if you know what you're getting" and, importantly, since he got electronics he wants them fully tested and sussed out in case we need to do a return or exchange before I go back to Atlanta. Christmas Day will be for food eating. :x

We watched Inglourious Basterds and I gotta say I enjoyed it a LOT more than other Tarantino films. Like other Tarantino movies, it was predictable to the note, but I think what carried it for me was the performances in various languages. (Even if Brad Pitt's attempt at a Southern American dialect was godawful! XP) I think my main friction with Tarantino, and also with Whedon, really, is that they ask for a delivery of dialog that's quickly repetative in cadence and it makes it difficult for the characters to really differentiate themselves. There's a kind of "witty mouthpieces" feeling that is broken up by the characters switching from English to German to French with each of those languages having their own natural rhythms.

My general apathy for Tarantino aside, I loved the performances in this one. It was a hilarious film. The characters really stood out as individuals. He captured the setting evocatively. More importantly, I DESPERATELY WANT SLASH FANFICTION OF IT. *cough* That may be a quest for tomorrow...as I well know it's out there.

(Ahh, that's my default reaction to everything. I'm predictable, too. :P)

ETA: Still a little wary of inability to change the background on Windows 7 Starter, but otherwise I do have to agree with Penny Arcade...it's not as bad as I expected! (And, okay, if I decide on an image I CAN change the background, but by slipping through its back door like a guerilla fighter.)

I can at least agree with their basic motivation: that they wanted to strip it down as much as possible for laptops. It still runs the battery down more than XP would but...eh.

Thank you everyone who sent me v-gifts for the holidays! <33

I'm now in that weird limbo world called "my parents' house" so my being at a computer will be kind of touch and go until January.

Marlowe is apparently thrilled to be here. He kept me in bed like two hours longer because every time I'd start getting up he'd throw himself on me and roll around and purr and eventually settle down to nap so I'd go back to sleep. Right now he's in my lap cuddling and purring and he's been following me around the house since I got up. (Including sitting outside the bathroom door and waiting for me to come out. He's such a canine...too bad he tries to kill the dogs.)

Since I don't have a lot of shelving at the house in Atlanta I brought Hilde's ashes home to set among my other things on the dresser here.

Need to charge cell phone so I can call up people who live round these parts.
